Aims and Scope

Community Connect: The Journal of Civic Voices Online (ISSN 2153-554x) is designed for peer-reviewed academic articles and serves as an addition to a print version of the Journal. Full articles are published online after they are accepted following a peer-review process. Abstracts will be published in a print version of the Journal that is released at the annual Community Connect forum.

You are invited to submit your academic article for review at any time. The following topics are particularly invited: a) community and community-university issues; b) reports on community projects and results; and c) community-based research projects. Recommended length of the article is up to 12,000 words in American Psychological Association (APA) style.

Review criteria include: relevance to the region and its communities; originality of perspective or analysis; appropriate support for positions or conclusions; inclusiveness of language; and accessibility of writing.

The Journal of Civic Voices Online publishes scholarly, peer-reviewed research and creative activity that uses engagement to produce projects, analysis, and results relevant to the communities of the region.
